Happy holidays, everyone! It’s time to break out the tinsel, get the gifts under the tree, hang the stockings, and set Santa’s cookies and milk out—Christmas is only a scant few hours away, after all! And for Santa’s older helpers, it’s time to get the pot roast roasted, the gingerbread cookies baked, the Christmas lights hanged and the gift shopping wrapped up. ‘Tis finally the season, after all!
No one will argue that this is a busy time of year, and that, in the midst of all the festive excitement, it’s easy to let a few important things slip here and there. Fortunately, we’re here to remind you of a few Rochester municipal details so that you don’t miss your opportunity to send Cousin Francis that sweater she wanted from Ann Taylor. Courtesy of Brendan McGaughey’s article on Patch.com, here are the holiday hours for all Rochester government offices:
The library will be closed today through Sunday, and the 30th through January 1st. The Bookmobile is also officially off the road until the weather brightens.
The post office, perhaps being the most important government office this time of the year, will be open from 9 am till noon on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. It will not be open on Christmas or New Year’s Day, so get your packages out as soon as possible!
The Secretary of State offices will be closed today through Monday, and the 30th through January 2nd, so make sure that all of your vehicle registrations are up-to-date before traveling—chances are, you won’t be able to get any last-minute registrations!
Finally, the Clinton River Watershed Council will once again offer Christmas tree recycling when you’re finally ready to take down your tree. Just take the trees down to 1115 Avon Road between 10 am and 4 pm on December 30th and January 7th, or between noon and 4 pm on December 31st and January 8th.
Stay organized, and stay merry everyone! Have a happy holiday, from the Linda Rea real estate team.
